The lift top desk is a wonderful early piece. The base was added in latter years to give it a nice place to rest. The papers and bottles have an early look that make a good accent for the desk. These are from a wonderful artisan who gives her things a very aged look.WELCOME!

Oh that looks really nice Cherry, is the desk black or just dark varnish? Whatever it is, it looks great, and bet it doesn't last the week!
Jen, The desk is a dark brown stain and the base was made to match. Don't you just love the old stuff?
Love it...I have a slanted desk probably from the 7o's that I have painted a barn red...after seeing the dark one of yours I think I'll do mine black:)

Rondell, Your desk probably will look great painted black. Have you thought of sanding where the natural wear would be and letting some of the red show?
