Bit of Folk Art

These long legged crows look whimsical on an old cupboard door.

How could you resist this bird pinkeep on an old bedspring?

One of a couple of gals that are shelf sitters that certainly could be tucked anywhere.

Pencil Post Bed

We set this bed up this weekend and looks like it is ready for fall. I love the contrast of the brown coverlet with the black of the bed. One of bed posts has a touch of fall leaves attached. After I took this picture I added a throw and a cradle at the foot of the bed to finish the look.

Fall Cuties !!!

Look what came in today! More wonderful handmade dolls by a very talented artist in Ohio. Sandy does a fantastic job on her dolls.

Does this big guy not have a face you could just love? He sits on top of an old bobbin and obviously the crow thinks he is worth hanging around with. So much for the life of a "scarecrow".
Out of their box these folk art creations immediately perch themselves on a mustard settle. Wonder if the guy on the left will scare the crows away with his sign saying"No Crows". They all look very happy together but the gal in the middle with her book of spells might cause a little mischief.

These little pumpkin girls look sweet in a bowl or tucked under an arm of a bigger doll. They could even hang from a cupboard door or from a peg shelf.

Witch Folk Art

This tall skinny witch is handmade and has so much character. Her hair is wire as is her arms and nose. Sprinkled on her dress are rusty stars. She is carrying a rusty bucket with a large piece of candy corn. She would certainly add a bit of whimsy to a fall setting.

Truly A Primitive

This is a nice small size three drawer chest that was handmade. The chest has character featuring its original finish and drawer pulls.

The other interesting aspect is the drawers were made from crates. Notice the inside of the drawer with the word oats from a grocery company. Like I said in the title....it truly is a primitive.

Pure and Simple Arrived !!!

The mailman just brought the calendars this morning. The pictures are so prim that it makes you want to sit and dream. You will want one for yourself and a friend.

fireplace fall

When I bought this old fireplace mantle the paint was peeling bad and it was UGLY. After some scraping the loose paint and adding a fresh coat of an autumn brown color I believe the end result is interesting. Of course it fits well with the fall decor that happens to be sitting on top.

Goblin Tree?

Oh, maybe not a goblin tree but a nifty tree to put a little pumpkin pocket or other fall decor. The little tree looks so natural but it actually is very poseable and stands about thirty inches The doll on the left is holding her crow but she is not necessarily "fall" although her clothes look right. The pumpkin guy is all smiles holding his cat. They make a sweet pair under the tree.
