Gift Ideas

Wonderful scented candles are always welcome. These come in three scents (Lemon, Homestead and Gingerbread ) and are in cute custard cups.

Something for the sweet tooth, McCall's Toffee is hard to resist.  Aspen Mulling Spice added to cider, tea or wine makes a special holiday drink .

Coopers Mill relishes or jellies added to cream cheese is a great stand by for last minute get together.

Santa's and More

Santa jetting away in his plane. A perfect Santa for the traveler or pilot in your life.
Freshen up your Christmas table with these delightful place mats and napkins. The small candle wreath makes a great napkin ring.

Santa's union suit adds a bit of whimsy to this chair.

I love these prim Santa's with their long wispy beards tucked into a basket of greens.

Snow People

Two cheery snow people that welcome you as you walk in the door.  They are sold separately but look great as a set. Both of these cuties can be hung also.

Touches

This is a closeup of one of our trees that Dianne did. Rusty bell garlands, cream bell wreaths with touches of red to an otherwise neutral tree.  Log houses, snowmen and Santa faces share a spot in this tree, also. Love the banner twinned through and the wired burlap that was added to the top of the tree (we sell by the roll). Also back in are the rice  twinkle lights with their eight functions, way too cool.
Do you need some really prim Christmas cards?  We have a nice selection come see.

All Santas!

Tiny santa sitting in a resin scoop. He adds a nice touch to one of Primitiques smaller wood pieces.

A variety of Santa's ,all handmade by some very talented ladies.

Santa even comes on a hooked pillow, bringing a fun touch to a sofa.
Handpainted Santa gourds by my friend Merrilyn, another very talented lady.

Prim Santa tucked into some twigs.

These are just a few of the handmade Santa's that are in the shop this year. I just received another box full of Santa's and snowmen but did not have a picture of them yet. To come latter I suppose.

Come by and check us out. We have been busy restocking since last week's open house. I will be going in early today to put out lamps, short glass chimneys, and to be honest not sure what is in all those boxes. More shipments coming, too!

Little More Christmas

Primitive tree with creams and tans. Bags of goodies tied to the tree holding candles, sprigs or even a Santa.
Chubby Snowman sitting proudly in a metal tub surrounded by greens.

Cupboard shelf filled with Christmas cheer .

Santa jetting away in his airplane.

Another fat snowman ,wreath and groupings on our old door.

Remember the cabinet at the back from a few weeks ago? Now it is filled with greenery tucked amid the red ware. Santa on table has found a new home but there are still some other great Santa's in the shop.

Christmas Preview

Getting close now for Candle Light and Cider Nov. 6 -10th and the elves have been hard at work doing their magic in the store.  I enjoy seeing it all come together with touches of Christmas here and there.
Santa nestles in an old basket. A little more to do tomorrow and we will be ready for the first day on Tuesday.

Almost Time!!

It's about that time to start decorating the shop for Christmas. Can hardly wait but the work does not begin until Sunday and Monday.

This is one of many Arnett's Santa's that we will have for this year. I took a quick picture then tucked him away for Open House week. Only a little peek for now .

Prim Shots

Redware by Stephen Earp. I like the contrast against the black cabinet. Soon we will fill the cabinet with greenery and seasonal delights. A little sparse right now but not for long.
Room shot waiting for Sunday when we start changing out for Christmas. Eager to get started but have to be patient only a few more days to go then viola Candle Light and Cider Open House Nov. 6-10th.
I went on a Witch Hunt today pulling what few witches were still lurking. They have been tucked away safely for next year.

A Little Redo !!

It's that time of the year to freshen up and get ready for the holidays. We are readying the store for our Candlelight and Cider Open House Nov. 6-10th. A little over a week away and out comes all the Christmas goods.

One of our recent finds has already made it's way into the store. The jelly cupboard has a nice mellow look with its original finish. Moving and making room for recently acquired antiques is part of the fun.

Primitive Cabinets

An old screened cabinet filled with grey granite ware. The bittersweet wreath and pumpkins compliment the grey color I believe.

This cabinet contains blue granite ware plus a collection of other goodies.

Very simple compared to the other two pictures but this Primitiques cabinet would work in nicely in a number of places.

Cute Little Chair

One of the two chairs that just came in. I love the size of the these two because they can be tucked into a small space if needed for extra seating. The other chair is red with small dots.

Can not believe it is almost the middle of October and my first post of the month. As you can see we still have some nice pumpkins and other fall goods.

Yummy !!

The house smells wonderful since I just got through baking breads for Fall Gatherings this week. Banana and Pumpkin bread cooling with Apple Annie to be made latter. My husband walked through awhile ago enjoying the aromas and I am sure wanting a taste.

Fall Gatherings!!! Time To Celebrate!!

Sweet handmades from Ohio just arrived in time for next week's Fall Gatherings.

Join us Sept. 13-15th as we celebrate fall and sixteen years of Gatherings. It seems like only yesterday when we opened our doors for the first time with our fall goods. What an exciting period of growth during those years gathering antiques and prim goods to fill the store. Everyone's support and encouragement has meant so much to me over the years.

Tried Again

Back in June I posted that I had tried to download the picture of Jackson the son of Jennifer Wade and was not able to. They came back in and bought more sunflowers. Jackson again helped his mommy hold her purchase. I took more pictures but that one in June was the sweetest. So again I tried to post the original picture and it worked. I guess the gremlins gave up and let me share Jackson's smiling face this time.

Simple Life Full Of Fall

Simple Life just came in and I am taking my copy home tonight. Just the little I have looked at is absolutely wonderful. I want to light one of my Homestead candles and sit back to enjoy each page of early prims. Come get your copy soon so you can enjoy, too.

Bits Of Fall

A simple collection of fall twigs in this old churn adds a touch of autumn in a corner. The stripped textile is from Family Heirloom Weavers.

Crab apple spray gives a touch of color to these fabric pumpkins.

A bare branch with hand made fabric ornaments or they could be used as bowl fillers.
