Barely a Week Away!!

Time is flying rapidly. I had not realized how long it has been since I have posted on the Blog. It has been busy at the shop with many purchasing seasonal goods for their homes.

If you need a special gift for someone check out our variety of items that we have to offer.

We have a nice selection of candles.
These are some of the jumbo Black Crow
candles that have just come in.

Jewelry...necklaces, bracelets, earrings from vintage to bling.

Purses and the very popular shrugs also scaves might be a good choice.

When it comes to antiques we have some nice pieces to choose from.

Eighteen Years !!

Eighteen years ago this month we opened Gatherings For The Home. We started out small and have continued to grow over the years. My sweet husband has been encouraging  every step of the way in making my dream possible.

So much has happened in these eighteen years from the births of two precious grandsons, major road construction when only mud was the parking lot, and other life events.  Many of you have been so supportive through much of these times.

I want to THANK YOU all for continuing to share your love of primitives and keeping my dream a possibility. The sweet women that have helped me in the shop over the years and the encouraging words from those of you that step in my front door make this all a true dream fulfilled.

You are all the best !!! Cherry

A busy last few days getting our new fall out. Love the natural gourds and the artificial bittersweet. This bittersweet can also be used outside. We have it in picks, too.

We are also on Facebook if you want to check us out there.

Happy Fourth!!

Our tradition is to share lemonade in the old brown churn that has been in the family for over 150 years. Every July 4th even if we are not together each of us is sipping cool lemonade somewhere and thinking of family.
Hope you enjoy this July 4th!
Also remember Gatherings will not be open this Saturday. We will resume regular hours next week.

Changing Out

Cabinet full of red ware pieces that just came in.

Love the way the blue granite looks in the Primitiques cupboard. I had to move the granite from the door so I could change that display.

The door with it's new display.  A little garden look .

Garden Time

It is beautiful out and a great time to do some gardening. I decided to do a little "gardening" inside the shop. Fresh handmade radishes, carrots and perky Blacked Eyed Susan's and a bit of color inside.

New Goodies!

Pillows always add a touch of color to a chair or sofa.
Bunny girl with her hen add a bit of whimsey to this grouping.

More bunnies made their way into the store this week. I love their eyes.
Rag doll to tuck in many little places.

This big guy is waiting for tomorrow to welcome  everyone to the store. Thursday is the first day of Spring Gatherings and goes through Saturday. We are ready for Spring !!!

Colors

Blues of old granite ware offer so many
shades. These pieces have been well used, evidenced in the multiple chipping.

Grey tote holding Bakelite flatware and utensils sporting shades of reds and yellows.

Browns one of the earthy colors we love so much in the prim world. Muffins in the pan are actually scented wax melts that are great sitting in the old muffin tin as shown.

Yellow ware bowls of different sizes offer so much interest especially the
bands of color added.

Invasion Of Giant Bird Nests !

We are being over taken by these giants but actually they are birch wreaths that I had just unpacked. Two huge boxes that I was so hoping would arrive while I was out of town. I am sure Kathy was happy I got to deal with them instead of her. They are all priced and hung on walls now though.

It is good to be back in the shop since my trip to Pennsylvania. Always rewarding finding new things for the store but the challenge of winter weather is not so fun.

Market Here We Come

That time of the year to take off for market in Pennsylvania. I will be leaving Saturday morning meeting up with friends Jen and Sharon.  We will be getting together and catching up on shop talk. We do have fun but also a very strenuous time being on a showroom floor for eight hours a day making choices for our stores.  Albeit enjoyable it is WORK plus tiring.

Speaking of work Kathy will have boxes to unpack while I am gone.  Four big boxes of Spring items just came in. I was thinking the doll in the picture would be me soaking my feet after shopping but Kathy may need to soak her muscles also after unpacking next week.

Whisk Away !

Whisk away the old and bring in the new. I am not sure where the last few weeks went since my last post but I know the holidays consumed a bunch of that time. I do hope it was good for everyone and now we are moving forward with a  New Year.

We have been busy getting the store back to "normal". Trees were taken down and greenery removed, making for a tidier look. Now people are noticing there are pretty tables that were hidden beneath all the seasonal fluff.

Redo here and there since a sweet customer from Ft Hood came and bought quite a bit of our furniture. It is always fun to change things out.

Whisk away again when a previous candle grouping was bought from the table. Another challenge but I think this grouping came out almost as inviting. We are in the "tween time" when Christmas over and not quite ready for Spring to be in our homes. Although some of our Northern friends would welcome a bit of warmer weather.
