Does this not say it all ? Another new fresh year is ahead of us to make our wishes and dreams come true. Its time to make those resolutions to do things differently or to remain content in what we have and to be thankful for that. Blessings to each of you for a wonderful year ahead.
By the way if you might wonder, thats my seven year old grandson behind the glasses.
The time is drawing near for Christmas Day. Preparations soon we will be completed and we will be able to sit back and enjoy the day. The men in my family will find a comfy chair to watch all the goings on. The women will be bustling in the kitchen getting the meal on the table. Does this sound familiar at your house? After opening gifts our family will enjoy playing games.
He can be round , jolly, tall or skinny. He evokes the child in all of us. Remember Christmas Day when you could not wait to tear into your packages? One year "my Santa" had built me, my very own playhouse. It even had electric lights. What a delight! I almost went through the picture window trying to get to it in our backyard. The hours and hours of fun in that little house with friends bring fond memories. The smell of fresh paint still makes me think of my childhood playhouse. How Santa was able to suprise me with that is still a wonder.
A Wingback chair is a staple in country decorating. It adds a certain charm to the country setting. Imagine this prim chair by the fireplace and enjoying a cup of coffee.
A little last minute color for your holliday decorating. These applique pillows just arrived and I love them. The large pillow would be great on a bed or sofa.
Samplers certainly give you a look of bygone days. These new ones have some of the sweetest sentiments. I have a large grouping of samplers over our bed and they make me happy to see them every night.
O.K. This is going to seem odd for you that are in Northern states but we are getting SNOW today. I know it doesn't look like much but we don't usually get white stuff in the Houston area. Our winters are usually rainy and cold. Yes I am open and enjoying seeing the snow out my shop windows and feeling like its almost Christmas.
Bottles add interest to a shelf or cupboard where you might need a couple of small tuck ins. When making groupings we need to remember to vary sizes and shapes to make it please our eyes. These bottles have some interesting labels but are not old.
This cabinet has the greatest looking color. It is Burnt Pecan with light Turquoise on the inside. This is one of Primitiques cupboards I have had before but it looks so different in this color combination. The two shelves on the bottom gives it so much potential. I wish I had folded a textile and laid it on the bottom shelf before I took the pic.
